First Update! (Update v1.1)
Impractical Problems (demo) » Devlog
Hello everyone and welcome to the first update to the Impractical Problems demo!
The changes are based on player feedback and some other miscellaneous quality of life changes.
Changelog for the latest version of Impractical Problems:
- Changed door texture to better suit the game environment
- The wood texture stuck out like a sore thumb and was quite hard to see is darker environments.
- Changed texture behind text on puzzle 2-2.5 (visibility of next room door from button)
- Changed texture of ramp base
- Same problem as the original door texture
- Fixed help UI not scaling correctly
- All other HUD elements scaled correctly, but the help menus did not
- Fixed a bug where glued cubes could remain stuck mid-air
- Reworked ramp base to be more stable and consistent (should no longer shift around (as much) when placed on the ground or move while objects are placed on it/you are moving on it)
- Originally, the ramp triangular base would try to match the angle of the ramp rectangle base (the top bit). Now it will only try to match angles while being held.
- Added UI popup when you have finished the main levels of the demo (can be switched off until played through demo puzzle 2 again)
- This is because it was not immediately obvious to players that there was more than the two demo puzzles in the game.
- Temporarily disabled object rotate for ramps (rotating ramps was glitchy and it was possible to lose the ramp in some puzzles)
- Because of the way the current implementation object rotation works, its works for cubes but as the ramp consists of multiple meshes, it caused problems...
I will be addressing the object rotation in a later build of the game as well as the addition of other features such as a stopwatch (to time your runs!) so keep an eye on this project!
Thank you for the feedback and for playing the demo! It is greatly appreciated :)
